Zhangjiajie Day Tour: Grand Canyon, Glass Bridge & Baofeng Lake

Tour Description:

Guide and driver will meet you in your hotel lobby in the morning around 8:30am.

We will then travel via private car or van (40min drive from Wulingyuan area hotel, and 90 min drive from Zhangjiajie city hotel) to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and Glass Bridge. We will walk across the world's longest glass bottom bridge and do a self hike in the Grand Canyon, and visit Baofeng Lake in the later afternoon, the tour will finish at around 5:00pm.

Attraction Description:

Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, located in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon scenic area, is the world's longest and highest glass bottom bridge spanning 430 meters (1,410-feet) across two cliffs , and with a width of 6 meters(20-feet), hovering over 300 meters(984-feet) vertical drop.  

In 2012, The famous Israel designer (Haim Dotan) and architect (Doronshalev) came to Zhangjiajie for investigating the feasibility of building it.  2 years later, their idea started to be involved officially with the real construction of Zhangjiajie glass bridge, then on August 20th of 2016, it finally open to public. The bridge deck is wholly paved with 3 layers of tempered glass, totally 99 pieces, which is 1.5meters long and 1.6cm thick for each.

As one of the most popular attractions in Zhangjiajie, it attracts a huge amount of tourists for each day, but the bridge can only hold 800 persons at one time, 8,000 for a day. If you are interested and brave enough, have a try at this spot!

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Scenic area is an important tourist attraction, located in Sanguansi township, Cili county at eastern part of Zhangjiajie city, next to the world Natural heritage and World Geological Park - Wulingyuan scenic area, it is a newly developed tourists area.

There are waterfalls and streams along all the Canyon way of over 2 hours' hike at the bottom. When strolling breathing the fresh air of nature, you will feel that you are at one corner of paradise.

Baofeng Lake: the word “Baofeng” in Chinese means treasures, it is said that a variety of gold silver and jewelry are in the Baofeng Lake. But who knows, whether it is true or not. Have to say about this lake was a reservoir before once used for irrigation, averaging 72 meters in depth, the deepest place is 119 meters. We will take 35 minutes for boat trip, what more, in the Baofeng Lake , we can hear the lovely folk songs from Tujia boys and girls.
