Overview

Visit the largest city center square in the world - Tian'anmen Square then to the magnificent Forbidden City, the largest Imperial Palace in the world. We'll spend a couple of hours wandering around this amazing example of Imperial architecture and learning about the history of the palace.

After lunch, we climb up to the Jingshan Park and visit Beihai Park nearby and the tour will be end at hutong area.

Itinerary

Day 1Private Walking Tour in Center of Beijing

8:00 Depart from your hotel.

Walk or take the public transportation to Tian'anmen Square, the tour guide will tell you the history relevant to these building around the square, and then walk to Forbidden City, which was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

We are going to visit the major palaces along central axis, follow as : Meridian Gate - Gate of Supreme Harmony - Hall of Supreme Harmony - Hall of Central Harmony - Hall of Preserved Harmony - Hall of Mental Cultivation - Hall for Ancestral Worship (Clock and Watch Hall) - Hall of Imperial Supremacy (Treasure Gallery) - Palace of Tranquil Longevity - Qianlong Garden - Well of Concubine Zhen - Gate of Divine Might.

For the lunch, you can take some fast food, snacks and water by yourself for the lunch, you also can have lunch in the local Chinese restaurant nearby the Jingshan park. After lunch, exploring the Jingshan Park, Beijing Park and Hutong area.

13:00 Visit royal parks and hutong area.

Jingshan Park, also called Coal Hill, you can climb the top of hill to enjoy the whole view of the Forbidden City. It's worth to climb at a clear day for spectacular views of the Forbidden City and Beijing.

Beihai Park is considered one of the oldest and best-preserved imperial gardens in the downtown area. Date back 1000 years, it's has survived the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties and is a perfect example of the ancient Chinese art of garden landscaping. We will leisurely stroll the gardens with plenty of photo opportunities. There are some beautiful places worth to visit in Beihai Park: White Pagoda, Five- Dragon Pavilions; Nine - Dragon Screen, etc.

Exit from the north gate of Beihai Park, we will take you to walk around hutong area nearby the Houhai lake. Smoking Pipe Oblique Street tucked behind Houhai lake, is one of the Beijing oldest hutong lanes. With a combination of residential buildings and traditional shopfronts displaying carved windows and selling an assortment of antiques, it's a quaint and charmingly old-fashioned area.

After the busy full day tour, take the public transportation back to your hotel.
