In Houhai area, we will visit the old hutong alleys, and the best-preserved mansion of Prince Gong. After that, we head to Beihai Park, which is considered one of the oldest and best-preserved imperial gardens in the downtown area. Date back 1000 years, it's has survived the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties and is a perfect example of the ancient Chinese art of garden landscaping. We will leisurely stroll the gardens with plenty of photo opportunities.
See the local people's life in hutong area and gain abundant knowledge about Chinese history and culture;
Enjoy the peaceful lake view of Houhai and the relaxed lakeside walking;
Visit the best- preserved mansion in Beijing;
Starting out at Qianhai Xijie, we will visit the gorgeous gardens of Prince Gong's former residence, which is the best-preserved mansion in Beijing. To continue, we will stop at Hou Hai Cafe & Bar to take a short break and enjoy a delicious coffee there.
Then we cross over the Silver Ingot Bridge and follow the southeast trail along Qianhai Lake just past the fishermen and mah jong battlers peeking the local people's way of entertainment.
Leaving from Houhai area, we head to Beihai Park. The path heading southwest will bring you to an interesting ferry dock where you can hop on a boat to Jade Island or dine at the Imperial Fangshan Restaurant after the tour. This is truly a fun and exciting tour~~out of the ordinary~~and off the beaten path. We climb up over the mountain taking in the White Pagoda, and cross the bridge to Round City where you can take in the magnificent view of Zhonghai and Nanhai Lakes.
