Market is always an interesting place to see local people's life, where Catherine will show you the traditional pastries, local seasoning, health tea and infusion explaining their functions.
You will learn how to prepare home-made hotpot and two more delicious local dishes for lunch with the help of the hostess.
During this fun local family visit, you also have an opportunity to speak to their kids in English, Chinese or even by body language! This surely is a great cultural dining experience as part of your stay in Beijing.

9:00 Your private driver will meet you in your hotel lobby in the morning.
9:30-10:00 Prior to visiting the local family, your hostess will show you around the local wet market nearby.
10:30-12:30 Upon arrival to the local family home, you will start preparing your own Hotpot. Family hot pot food is a team party fun meal! Someone do cleaning, someone do cutting, someone prepares to smash garlic and dipping sauce, etc. Then all people sit around the table enjoy delicious hot pot with everyone's efforts!
Hotpot is not the only food we are going to taste for lunch, will also learn how to cook two more delicious dishes to make the meal with more local flavors (Kung Pao Chicken and Sour Sweet Pork or scrambled egg with tomato; Sauted soy sauce cabbage or green bean pork).
13:00-14:00 Interesting topics are always talked about at the table. Drinking some tea, the hostess will share you her personal experience and would be very glad to hear your story as well.

The quoted price is for a 4-5 hours’ tour per day.
Additional hours are billed at 50CNY to 100CNY for the guide and 50CNY to 100CNY for the driver.
Please note that the itinerary is flexible and we can adjust it according to your personal interests, the weather or any unexpected conditions.
We conduct only private tour but not group tour and won’t mix you with others.
