Start from the Nanluoguxiang alley, which is the famous and busy commercial street, we will see the trendy street food and fancy souvenir stores. Turn from the alley into the Hutong area, let's discover the real local people's life.
The beautiful Houhai (the back lake) is nearby, just few minutes' walk, the peaceful lake is in front of you, wandering along the lakeside and feel the breeze blowing your face gently.
Tucked behind Houhai lake, Smoking Pipe Oblique Street is one of the Beijing oldest hutong lanes. It got its name from the many tobacco pipe shops mushrooming with the arrival of the Manchu rulers. With a combination of residential buildings and traditional shopfronts displaying carved windows and selling an assortment of antiques, it's a quaint and charmingly old-fashioned area.
We will also climb up to Drum tower and Bell tower to watch the Drum performance and see the biggest copper bell in China.
After the tour, take the public transportation back to your hotel
